THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER A LAZY DOG
ROBERTO BERETTA
The quick brown fox jumps over a lazy dog is the most famous pangram in English, that is the most short sentence in which all the 26 letters of the alphabet are used.
For this reason, it is useful to test the graphic aspect of the fonts, because all the letters are immediately on hand.
26 letters are hidden in buildings, road markings and street furniture. Theyre subtle, still, they dont shout to be heard, but theyre everywhere.
Theyre fonts of urban life, a continuous and silent stream of typography, an A to Z entirely realized in London with the collaboration of Andreu Llorens.
From an idea between design and photography, the index of 26 characters, printed, bound and now in your hands.
Born in Piacenza, Roberto Beretta graduated with a Masters in Visual Design from the "Scuola Politecnica di Design" of Milan in 1994. Since then he is providing conceptual work, design development and detailing of literature design, corporate identity and communications projects to private and public organisations. Alongside his profession in the graphic design industry, he is maintaining a personal interest in urban photography. He is currently living and working in London.
